Lotta Blond, Executive Director, Swedish Business Council

Welcome, or even welcome back, to the Swedish Business Council. How do you like it so far?

Thank you! Moving back to Dubai in January, after three years back in Sweden, on top of my wish list was to join the SBC team again*. I never thought it would happen, but I was lucky. A position was announced, and I got it!

These first two weeks have been intense since the office has been “closed” during the summer, so we have a backlog, and a lot of exciting events in the pipeline. But that is how I like it to be – full speed ahead!

So, tell us who is actually Lotta Blond?

With age comes experience; mine is mainly in marketing and communications within various sectors. My last position was as a Project Manager in the city of Helsingborg, Sweden. I was part of the team responsible for a long-term investment in welfare, city development, and innovation to secure the quality of life for the citizens of Helsingborg—a very interesting project. Amongst others, I have also run my own business as a consultant in project management within events and marketing for nine years. 

As a person, I am curious and strive for continuous learning. I prefer to be active and to try new things, almost whatever it is. My husband and I live in the Greens, in Dubai and we have two grown up children who live in Sweden. I do enjoy going to the gym, and road biking, and this summer I started to learn how to play padel and I am hooked. Back home, trail walking is yet another favorite. And, I can’t have enough dinner with friends.

So, what are your expectations for being a part of SBC?

I love to work, learn, and explore, so what could be better than working with all those interesting Swedish companies and help them thrive in the UAE.
