Who is Haisam Moussa?
I am Haisam Moussa, currently serving as the Vice President MEA for Sigma Connectivity MEA. I oversee our operations in the UAE and manage sales and business development within the country and across the region. My professional journey has been shaped by a deep passion for technology and innovation, coupled with a strong commitment to developing solutions that create lasting value.
My educational background is rooted in engineering and business, which has provided me with a solid foundation to navigate the complexities of technology-driven industries.
As the Vice President MEA, what are your main responsibilities, and what strategies are you currently focusing on?
As Vice President MEA, my core responsibilities include driving growth for Sigma Connectivity MEA by managing our operations in the UAE, expanding our presence throughout the region, and building strong partnerships. I also focus on fostering collaboration between our talented engineering team and local partners to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Our current strategy is built around several key pillars:
Sigma Connectivity Edge AI
Supporting Local Engineering Partners: By collaborating on internal projects and promoting knowledge exchange through co-development.
Building a Local Talent Pool: Establishing a regional engineering base to cater to the increasing technological needs of the UAE and the broader region.
Providing End-to-End Solutions: Delivering fully certified, market-ready products spanning hardware, software, and production.
Upgrading Manufacturing to Industry 4.0 Standards: Assisting local manufacturers in transforming their facilities into Industry 4.0-enabled hubs.
Maintaining a Consultant-Only Model: Ensuring our impartiality by not owning IP, thus prioritizing our partners’ success.
What are some of the initiatives you're most proud of during your 10 years with Sigma Connectivity?
During my decade-long journey with Sigma Connectivity, I am particularly proud of our expansion efforts in the Middle East, successfully establishing a robust presence and fostering partnerships that drive innovation.
Additionally, I take pride in spearheading initiatives aimed at building a local engineering talent pool, which is crucial for our mission to empower the UAE’s technological ecosystem. Facilitating collaboration between our experienced engineers and local partners to co-develop solutions has been a rewarding experience.
Moreover, helping local manufacturers transition to Industry 4.0 standards is another accomplishment I value. These efforts are crucial to enhancing the region’s manufacturing capabilities and making the vision of “Designed in UAE, Made in UAE” a reality.

What career advice would you give someone who would like to pursue something similar to what you have done?
I would advise anyone looking to follow a similar path to develop a strong technical foundation, it's crucial to have a deep understanding of engineering principles, especially in highly innovative sectors such as connectivity and sensor solutions. Embracing lifelong learning is also vital, as the technology landscape evolves rapidly; staying curious, keeping an open mind, and being receptive to new ideas are essential. Additionally, cultivating a global perspective can be invaluable; understanding different markets and cultural contexts, along with being adaptable and open to collaboration across regions, will significantly enhance your career.
Above all, remain passionate about your work and always strive to create value, whether through innovation, partnership, or leadership.
What is your vision for your career and personal life moving forward?
Looking ahead, my vision for my career revolves around continuing to drive innovation and technological advancement in the region. I am committed to nurturing local talent and supporting the growth of a robust engineering ecosystem within the UAE.
On a personal level, I aim to maintain a healthy balance between my professional and personal life, focusing on continuous learning and growth while contributing positively to my community. I also aspire to be a mentor to future engineers and business leaders, sharing my knowledge and experiences to help them achieve their goals.
My goal is to help shape a future where the UAE becomes a hub for world-class engineering solutions.
