With a background in engineering and a passion for technology, Ayman has successfully driven business growth and fostered a culture of innovation at Quant. His leadership is shaped by Swedish values which align with both the company’s operations and his personal approach. Outside of work, Ayman enjoys a balanced life in Dubai with his family, and he is driven by a desire to make a tangible impact in both his career and personal life.

Who is Ayman Matar?
I live in Dubai since 2001 with my wife, Kristel Bechara, a visual artist, and our two wonderful children, Amy (8) and Yves (10). We are lucky to be balancing a fulfilling professional life with family adventures with an active and healthy lifestyle. I am an engineer by education, a bookworm by passion and a business leader by profession. My journey began with a love for problem-solving and a curiosity about technology, which led me to pursue engineering career and specialize in smart maintenance.

As the General Manager of Quant, could you elaborate on your role and key responsibilities? Additionally, what are the main strategic objectives you are focused on in your current position?

As the General Manager of Quant in the Middle East, my role is multifaceted. I lead a dynamic team specializing in smart maintenance partnerships, with a focus on delivering solutions that enhance the performance and sustainability of industrial facilities. My responsibilities include business development, strategy execution, and nurturing client relationships, all while ensuring that our operations align with global standards.

Our strategic objectives are centered around:

·       Digital Transformation: Empowering industries with cutting-edge technologies and tools to drive operational efficiency.

·       Sustainability: Aligning with global goals to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprints across industrial facilities.

·       Client-Centric Solutions: Tailoring services to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering long-term partnerships.

With over 3 years of experience at Quant, what are some of the most significant initiatives or projects you have led during your tenure? Could you share any key accomplishments that you feel particularly proud of?

Quant is a people business – our proudest achievement is establishing a culture of trust and innovation within the organization. By fostering collaboration and empowering my team, we have consistently delivered outstanding results while maintaining high employee satisfaction and retention. Our business and FTE doubled in numbers over the past 3 years.

Quant, a Swedish company for about 35 years with a strong global presence. How would you describe the influence of Swedish culture on your leadership approach and the company’s operations in the Middle East? Are there particular values or practices from Swedish culture that you integrate into your work?

Swedish culture emphasizes collaboration, equality, and sustainability, values that deeply resonate with me and shape my leadership style. At Quant, we embrace a flat organizational structure, empowering every team member to contribute and innovate. This approach has been pivotal in the Middle East, where we blend local insights with global best practices.

A particularly Swedish value that I hold dear to my heart is sustainability. This influences our service offerings, such as energy-efficient maintenance solutions and our internal practices, ensuring that we operate responsibly in every aspect.

Looking ahead, what are some of the personal and professional goals you aspire to achieve in the future? What drives you in your career and life more broadly?

Professionally, my goal is to position Quant as the go-to partner for smart, sustainable maintenance in the Middle East. On a personal level, I aspire to contribute to the broader conversation on how technology can drive sustainability in industries globally. My greatest motivator is the opportunity to make a tangible impact—whether it’s optimizing operations for a client, supporting my team’s growth, or inspiring my children to pursue their passions.
