Festive Year End 2021

The fantastic singer Joseph Terterian welcomed the 250 guests to lawn of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai by singing Christmas song including the Swedish song; Jul, jul strålande jul, which got everyone in the mood.

The Swedish Julbord commenced with a traditional warming Lucia procession followed by the hostesses of the evening; Christina, Helena and Johanna, welcoming the guests with a rhyming speech (typically done in Sweden during Christmas) and their own rocking song - SBC Rock (melody; Jingle Bell Rock)!

During the evening we listened to Pauline Madani, President of the Swedish Business Council who informed us about SBCs achievements during the year.

The Ambassador of Sweden to the United Arab Emirates, Ms Liselott Andersson honoured us with her presence and held a speech.

This year, as Expo is in town and the UAE is celebrating 50 years, the evening commemorated these two happenings by everyone honouring the country and singing the UAE National Anthem and also listening to the Expo Song - This is our time, performed by Lisette Uhlmann and Joseph Terterian. The song followed a speech by Mr Jan Thesleff, Commissioner General of the Swedish Expo Pavilion.

The evening continued with the great band ThePLAY with Lisette Uhlmann as lead singer, Josefine Persson as background singer, Niklas Wikström on guitar, Giuliano Francella on drums and Francisco Abreu on base who all made a great ending of the evening.
