A Swedish celebration!
Yesterday (June 8th) the Swedish expats and our extended community in the UAE were invited to celebrate the Swedish National Day!
2 days after the actual day didn’t stop anyone feeling festive.
Even though many people celebrated EID this week and weekend, more than 130 people gathered at the Hilton Jumeirah, the walk, in Dubai to indulge in a Swedish inspired buffet with a speech by H.E the Ambassador of Sweden to the UAE, Mr. Henrik Landerholm, who attended the celebrations together with his wife Ann. We were very happy to once again have Lisette Uhlmann treating us with some beautiful singing, increasing the Swedish spirit. She also performed an adorable song with all the children. Being an event for the whole family, children got entertained by the fantastic Art Village Nursery. Their staff had brought a variety of arts and crafts, there was a movie room as well (with popcorn - a must) and the kids enjoyed a classic quiz - all in Swedish of course. The children’s activities were topped off with a very appreciated “fiskdamm”.
