The assembly of its first units
Alfa Laval Arabia for Maintenance is delighted to announce that it has successfully commenced the assembly of their first units following the approval of its industrial license for the Plate Heat Exchanger (PHE) local assembly. This marks a significant milestone in the journey towards operational excellence and enhanced regional capabilities.
The first set of assembled products includes 4 units of the AQ10T-BFM, one of Alfa Laval’s finest gasketed plate heat exchangers, tailored for one of their HVAC customers in construction executing a district cooling project. These units are AHRI-certified and highlight the company’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art solutions.
This milestone reflects the strategic localization of the PHE assembly process in Saudi Arabia. Assembling the components locally results in reduction of carbon footprint minimizes lead times, and better meet the sustainability objectives of the customers and the Saudi government’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2060. Previously, assembled units were imported often by air, leading to higher emissions from airfreight.
“As we celebrate this milestone, we thank everyone involved in this achievement and are committed to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable and thriving industrial landscape in Saudi Arabia”, said, AbdulRahman AlShehri, General Manager Saudi Arabia, Alfa Laval Middle East Ltd.
This step not only enhances Alfa Laval’s ability to serve customers with greater efficiency but also contributes to the growth of the local industrial sector, fostering employment, material sourcing, and infrastructure development. It further aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives to diversify the Kingdom’s economy and drive innovation in the manufacturing sector.
