18 May 2023, The Corporate Tax Law​

The Federal Decree-Law No. (47) of 2022 on the Taxation of Corporations and Businesses (hereinafter referred to as the “Corporate Tax Law”) was issued by the United Arab Emirates (“UAE”), on 09 December 2022.

The Corporate Tax Law provides the legislative basis for the introduction and implementation of a Federal Corporate Tax (“Corporate Tax”) in the UAE and is effective for financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023.

 

3 November 2021, The Year of the 50th

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, declared 2021 as ‘The Year of the 50th’ to commemorate 50 years since the nation’s founding in 1971.

Running from 6 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, the celebration coincides with the UAE’s hosting of Expo 2020.

The celebration is an investment in people-building first – using this inflection point to celebrate our remarkable journey over the last 50 years and begin preparing our nation for the transformative change that lies ahead in the next 50.

30 April 2020, Repatriation Flights

With the approval of the UAE Government and local authorities, Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai & Air Arabia have announced repatriation flights to a number of destinations across the globe.

  • Passengers may need to secure documents from their embassy to travel. However, travelers should check their eligibility to enter the destination of their choice before booking flights.

  • Customers will be required to follow all health and safety measures required by the UAE authorities and the country of destination.

  • Airline staff will select seats for travelers on these flights in order to apply social distancing measures.

  • Destinations are changing daily as subject to government approval, so please contact your travel agency for more details.

23 April 2020, Partial easing of restrictions on movement in Dubai

Government of Dubai Media Office – 23 April 2020: In line with the decisions of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced a partial reduction in the restrictions on movement in the emirate starting from Friday 24 April.

  • Manufacturing

  • Offices and office buildings restrictions

  • Social Welfare Services

The business community is expected to align and be in compliance with the guidelines and protocols detailed in this document.
