Embassy of Sweden, Abu Dhabi

Sweden's missions abroad

The Embassy of Sweden in Abu Dhabi opened in early 2002. It covers three countries in the Gulf region: The United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait.

The embassy's main task is to promote and follow Swedish interests by monitoring and reporting on the political and economic development in UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait and security policy developments in the local area and region. Promoting trade, investment and the image of Sweden is the focus of the embassy's operations. Networking and knowledge building is also central to the business. The Embassy also handles consular, legal and migration matters and maintains consular crisis preparedness.
