2024 greeting from the SBC Board member

Happy Birthday SBC!

My name is Carl and I had the honor to join the SBC’s Board of Directors back in 2019. These years have been so rewarding for me as a person and it has been a true pleasure to see the amazing growth of SBC during these years.

2024 marks the year for SBC’s 30th anniversary. Can you imagine? Three decades of affinity amongst us Swedes in the UAE. We will make sure to celebrate this in class!

My history with SBC stretches back more than 10 years, when we joined as a corporate member.  

Ever since, I have attended most events, hosted events and sponsored events - and believe me when I say I have had a lot of fun. We have also seen a very positive effect on our business, which only shows what consistency with SBC can bring to the table.

I have seen SBC grow from a relatively small gathering once a month to a respected Business Council with several, well visited, events a month. British friends of mine have asked about SBC’s events as they have heard about them from others, so I would indeed say that we have cemented a reputation for being a serious, yet fun, and well-established Business Council that brings value to our members in the UAE.

Let us also not forget the togetherness of Swedes living abroad. This is very important. I sometimes call SBC an organized home away from home. Never would I have met as many fellow Swedes and new friends if it was not for the events that SBC hosts.

Thank you to everyone that has contributed to make SBC to what it is today. The past 30 years wouldn’t have been possible without you, so let us celebrate this together.
