The Swedish Business Council
A Meeting Point for Business in the RegionThe Swedish Business Council (SBC), in the United Arab Emirates is a business group of more than 130 members, both companies and individuals.
Our mission statement is: "To support and promote Swedish business interests in the UAE and to encourage and promote relations between Sweden and the UAE". Our prime role is to support the Swedish business community in the region by assisting in networking, informing about business rules and regulations in the region. We are also being a social platform for people with Swedish interests. We work closely and in collaboration with the Swedish Trade Council, STC, (Exportrådet) in Dubai and with the Swedish Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Our first office was established in Dubai in 1994. In 2008 we also established a Council in Abu Dhabi. Together with the Swedish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and STC in Dubai, Swedish Business Council is the port of call when it comes to supporting and promoting the local Swedish business community and its businessmen in the United Arab Emirates. SBC works closely with, not only the Swedish Embassy and STC, but also with other Business and Trade Councils, Chambers of Commerce, both in Sweden and in the UAE, as well as the Swedish Travel and Tourist Council We form a valuable network for business through the council and our partners, as well as reference groups and long experience in the region. We are, without doubt, your point of reference when living or doing business in the Emirates.
A platform for Networking and Social ActivitiesSBC is an important platform for networking as well as social activities. Any social gathering may be of so much more value than any officially scheduled meeting in terms of potential business, which makes our social activiteis one of the most important elements. Being successful at work, often means having a strong family foundation and/or good and interesting social network. SBC upholds and promotes Swedish traditions, values, culture and sport through social activities such as; golf, luncheons, Swedish school and women´s club. |
